The Liberal City Commission met on Monday evening and heard from Benesch who provided an update on the floodplain mapping project.
Commissioners City Commission approved Resolution 2417, authorizing the offering for sale of General Obligation Temporary Notes, Series 2024 for the Solar Project that was recently approved.
Also approved was Resolution No. 2418, as presented, setting a Public Hearing for the establishment of the RHID District for Larry and Hickory Streets and the adoption of the Development Plan on September 24, 2024, at 5:30 p.m. This could create the development of 70 lots.
Approved for the Recreation Center was the purchase of Varsity Scoreboards to replace the current scoreboards for an amount not to exceed $8,750.00.
The City has entered into discussions with Apex Clean Energy for the possibility of creating a Gigawatt Scale Green Hydrogen Facility with the first step being the purchasing the City’s wastewater effluent where the contracts could be presented as early as the next meeting.
The City is also entering into discussions with the Dairy Queen franchisees about the Community Improvement District and approved to support the Community Health Fair with $30,000 to dramatically reduce the cost to testing for participants.
