City Commission Approves Property Abatement

The Liberal City Commission met on Tuesday evening and rescinded resolution 2398 due to a lot description error and then approved Resolution 2400 for the abatement of 809 N. Pennsylvania with demolition by T&B Towing for $12,000.00.

The Commission adopted Resolution 2401 which allows the City to Levy a Property Tax which would Exceed the Revenue Neutral Rate and serves as an official notice to the Seward County Clerks Office.

The Commission also discussed Amendments to the RHID’s for Chance Drive and Arapahoe Lane.

As part of the clubhouse renovation, the Commission is checking into to upgrade to a full liquor license for the Willow Tree Golf Course, and the Commissioners approved a study to be done at the airport to add a parallel taxiway to the Crosswinds runway at the recommendation of the FAA for safety reasons. CATEX will complete the study not to exceed $50,000.

The Commission moved to the next meeting a proposed Fitness room at the Recreation Center, and approved Lobby Services with Watkins Public Strategies for both State and Federal Representation.

Commissioners are also looking into a rental agreement form for Non-Profit, Community Groups, and Government Agencies for City facilities.

The Commission will also be holding a special meeting on July 25th to try out the new agenda software.
