On Friday, June 17t at 4:05 pm the Hamilton County Kansas Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call for a possible drowning of two children at Sam’s Pond. Hamilton County EMS, City of Syracuse Fire Dept., Kansas Dept. Wildlife and Parks, and Scuba Ventures Liberal Kansas were called to the scene.

One child was transported to the hospital while the other remained missing. The child’s body was recovered.
