The Liberal Bee Jay power structure remains familiar. Monday at the BJ board of directors meeting the team named Mike Carlile as the general manager. Mike takes on a roll his father Bob Carlile rode right into the National Baseball Congress Hall of Fame and the Kansas Baseball Hall of Fame. Bob Carlile passed away in January before the 2012 Bee Jays took the field and the club decided to leave the role of general manager vacant in respect of Bob’s work he had already poured into the 2012 season. So different directors picked up the slack, especially Mike Carlile who steps into that offiicial roll leading into the 2013 season. Nathan McCaffrey will again be the BJ president.
The Bee Jays will also bring back two of their coaches from last year. Brandon Kitch will return as head coach and Adam Anderson returns as pitching coach. Under their guidance, the BJ’s were 30-17 and 19-15 in the Jayhawk. The Bee Jays went 3-2 for ninth in the NBC World Series.
Despite the familiar faces, next year’s Liberal Bee Jays will have a new look. They have new home uniforms and new red and light blue helmets.
