Car/Pedestrian Accident Sends One to the Hospital

On September 13, at about 5:57 am officers of the Liberal Police Department were dispatched to 1501 N. Kansas in reference to a pedestrian struck by a vehicle. Upon arrival, officers discovered that a silver 2012 Kia Sorento, driven by a 51-year-old male, was traveling on Kansas Ave when he struck a pedestrian jogging through the crosswalk.

The pedestrian was transported to SWMC and the driver was issued a citation for inattentive driving.
