Butler Breezes by Seward

On a cold and windy day at Lady Saints Field, #11 Butler breezed by Seward Wednesday afternoon. Even a 35 mile per hour wind blowing in was no match for Butler’s bats and they swept Seward 10-2 and 8-4. Butler hitters pounded out 18 runs and 25 hits in the two games while only striking out six times.

In game one, Oklahoma bound Butler pitcher Maggie Ham held Seward to just two hits. Butler scored four in the third, two in the fourth, and four in the fifth. Seward’s Stephanie Mark banged out an RBI double in the loss.

In game two, Butler raced to a strong start against Seward scoring five in the first. Mark was 3-4 in the loss. Seward used four pitchers on the day to try to solve Butler’s bats.

Butler is 19-1 while Seward falls to 13-7. Seward plays at Dodge City Friday.
