Brock Kappelmann - May 9, 2022 2:02 pm
LHS boys golf finished 7th out of 9 teams in the Garden City 36 hole tournament on Saturday. We started the morning at Buffalo Dunes. It was windy and chilly to begin the day. The boys competed well and finished in 8th out of 9 in thee morning and 4th out 5 WAC teams. The morning portion was for WAC standings. We barely came up short of beating Hays and finishing 3rd.
Carson Gilmore led the team with a 93, Ryan Mein 97, Josh King 99, Logan Miller 100, Joseph Haskell 115, Tacoma Gilmore 126.
We went over to Southwind for the second 18 and it warmed up and the wind picked up more. Some of the teams or kids didn’t compete in the afternoon and proud of our kids for wanting to stick it out and compete during the long windy day. The course played tough as the scoring average rose by 5+ strokes overall from the morning. Carson Gilmore led the team in the afternoon portion with a 101, Ryan Mein 111, Logan Miller 112, Joseph Haskell 113, Josh King 120.
We host our WAC tournament on Tuesday and then will finish up WAC on Thursday in Great Bend before heading to Terradyne in Andover for regionals.
