The Liberal Bee Jays lost their first series of the season after losing 6-1 Saturday and 3-2 Sunday at El Dorado. After a 6-0 win Friday night, the Bee Jays struggled the rest of the weekend at McDonald Stadium in El Dorado.

Sunday, a player who played for Derby until recently, Don Lambert delivered a game winning hit in the bottom of the 9th for an El Dorado walk off win. The Bee Jays (13-6, 9-6) only mustered five hits. Northeast Texas right hander Justin Schnedler pitched four and 2/3 allowing two runs before Cal-Irvine’s Sebastion Santos went three and 1/3 scoreless and Coffeyville’s John Branum allowed his first run of the year for the loss.

Saturday, the Broncos banged out 13 hits holding the BJ’s to five hits. Starter Cody Crabaugh didn’t make it out of the fourth.

The Bee Jays host the Pueblo Collegians in a non league game Monday night at 7 p.m. The Bank of Beaver is the buyout sponsor.
