The Kansas Department of Transportation expects work to resume the week of May 23 on a bridge repair project on US-160 west of Ashland. Phase two of this work on the bridge carrying US-160 over Keiger Creek calls for a polymer overlay designed to seal the bridge deck and protect the bridge from future corrosion.
KDOT expects this phase to be completed by May 27, weather permitting. During work hours, traffic will be reduced to one lane over the bridge, guided by a pilot car operation. The Kansas DOT reminds drivers to pay attention to all work zone signs, slow down and be prepared to stop.
Wildcat Construction Company, Inc., of Wichita, Kansas, is the primary contractor on the approximately $150,000 bridge repair project. If you have questions on this project please contact Joyce Muhlenbruch, Dodge City Area Construction Engineer, at 620-227-6122, or Kirk Hutchinson, Southwest District Public Affairs Manager, at 620-276-3241 or (toll free) 877-550-5368.
