According to the Kansas Department of Transportation, traffic changes along U.S. 54 in Meade County will start July 15, three miles west of the west city limits of Meade.

The traffic change is needed to allow bridge repair work to take place. Motorists should expect minimal delays, and a 12-foot width restriction will be in effect. Temporary traffic signals will direct one-lane traffic through the work zone, and signs and cones will mark the lane reduction.

PBX Corporation & Subsidiary of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, is the contractor on this $847,656.44 project, which, weather permitting, is expected to be completed by the beginning of November.
