Boomers Pull Away from Redskins

Liberal left some opportunities on the table in an 8-3 loss to Woodward Tuesday evening at the Liberal Baseball Complex. LHS had two hits in each of the first two innings but could not score. The game was scoreless until the fourth when Woodward broke through with two runs. Wdward added a fifth inning run and LHS counted with a run in the bottom of the inning after Woodward had two errors to make the score 3-1 Woodward. But Woodward scored five in the sixth to blow the game open aided by two walks, one bean ball, four hits, and two errors. LHS came back with a run in the sxith when Stevie Lira doubled home Lorenzo Pando and in the seventh when Jared Hasik doubled home Tim Fitzgerald. Hasik was 2-3. Collin Ware pitched five innings allowing three runs and six hits in a no decision. Hasik and Lira pitched scoreless innings in relief.

LHS is 7-5 and Woodward is 11-15. Liberal plays at Colby Friday.
