Bids Awarded for 2 Road Projects in Meade County

The Kansas Department of Transportation has awarded several bids for projects across the state. Projects in Southwest Kansas District 6 that were approved were both in Meade County. The first project approved was a grading and surfacing of 2.7 miles from 3.4 miles east of the U.S. 54/U.S. 160 junction east for 2.7 miles. J & R Sand Company Inc., Liberal, Kansas, was awarded the bid at $8,418,824.59.

The second project also went to J & R Sand Company Inc. of Liberal, Kansas, in the amount of$6,544,945.65 for grading and surfacing on U.S. 54, from the Meade/Seward county line east for 1.8. miles
