Bee Jays Win Big at McPherson

The Liberal Bee Jays swept their two game trip to McPherson with a 12-2 win over the Pipeliners Wednesday night.  The Bee Jays improve to 8-1 overall this season and 7-1 in Kansas Collegiate League games.  The game went eight innings due to run rule.

The Pipeliners scored two in the first and led until Liberal tallied a three run fourth.  Liberal added five in the sixth and four in the eighth.  Liberal out-hit the Pipeliners 11-8.

Blaine Thomas hit his second home run in as many nights.  Quintt  Landis was 3-5 at the top of the Bee Jay order.  Thomas was 2-3 with three RBI’s and three runs.  AJ Folds was 2-5 and Elijah McCarter drove home two runs.  Eric Turner pitched three innings.  Rafferty Brown pitched two scoreless innings.  Jack Chester worked two shutout innings.  Thomas Bartels pitched the eighth.    He allowed two earned runs and struck out 11 and walked five.

Liberal is 8-1.  The Bee Jays game scheduled for Thursday against Great Bend was postponed because Great Bend has bus issues.  The Bee Jays host a big Jayhawk Division series with the Kansas Curve Friday night and Saturday night at 7 at Brent Gould Field.  Golden Plains Credit Union is the game sponsor for Friday night’s game.  Both games will air on 1270 and kscbnews.net.
