Bee Jays Swing Away at Sluggers Late Friday Night

The Liberal Bee Jays now have a bracket to view for the NBC World Series. The 81st annual NBC begins Friday and the BJ’s, celebrating their 60th summer of baseball are part of the event. The Bee Jays play the Wichita Sluggers Friday night at 10 at Lawrence-Dumont Stadium in downtown Wichita. The teams play in the 16 team double elimination first week of the NBC. The top two teams from this portion of the tournament advance to Championship Week which begins July 31.
The Sluggers are the 19 and under Hap Dumont Regional champs. The Bee Jays are 28-16 and finished 22-14 in the Jayhawk League. They are one of four teams in the NBC along with the Wellington Heat, El Dorado Broncos, and Haysville Aviators. The Broncos and Aviators won’t play until Championship Week.
In preparation for the NBC, the Bee Jays play the Puerto Rico Collegiate National team Wednesday night at 7 at Brent Gould Field.
