The Liberal Bee Jays scored five in the seventh for a 10-6 win over the North Platte Plainsmen Wednesday night at Brent Gould Field. The Bee Jays have won all four games this season against North Platte.
The Plainsmen got off the bus ready to play on Wednesday scoring three in the first. The Bee Jays countered with two in the first. Owen May doubled and Ethan Calder doubled him home. Nick Husovsky singled home a run. The Plainsmen scored in the fourth to lead 4-2. Liberal countered in the bottom of the fourth. Ryota Kusumoto doubled to lead off the inning and scored on a Jackson Schofield ground out. The B.J.’s tied the game at 4-4 with a run in the fifth. Owen Barger tripled to left center to lead off the inning. Isaac Webb’s line drive sac fly to center tied the game. North Platte scored two in the sixth. But Colby Diduch pitched the B.J.’s out of a bases loaded no out jam to keep the score at 6-4 North Platte. The Bee Jays broke through i the seventh. Owen Barger singled home a run to make it 6-5. Isaac Webb and Owen May singled to load the bases. With two outs, Mateo Garcia delivered a two RBI single over the second baseman for the 7-6 lead. The Bee Jays scored two on a Plainsman error for a 9-6 lead. The Bee Jays scored one in the eighth for the 10-6 lead. Luke Rhee doubled to left center and scored on Isaac Webb’s bunt single.
Colby Diduch was the Epic Touch Player of the Game with four shutout innings, five strikeouts, and no walks. Isaac Webb was 3-4 with two RBI’s. Owen May, Ryota Kusumoto, and Owen Barger added two hits a piece.
Liberal is 15-4 and North Platte is 6-21. The same two teams play Thursday night at 7pm on 1270 and 92.3. Plains State Bank is the buyout sponsor.
