Bee Jays Move Into First with a Win at Haysville

With a fourth straight win, the Liberal Bee Jays move into first place in the Jayhawk League. The Bee Jays beat the Haysville Aviators 7-2 Wednesday night at Vulcan Field in Haysville.
Josh Sieglitz picked up the win going five innings allowing two runs. Chance Carner pitched three shutout innings with five strikeouts. Zach Zeller pitched a scoreless inning with two strikeouts.
Liberal had seven runs on 11 hits. Haysville had three errors and allowed three unearned runs.
The Aviators scored first with a first inning run. Liberal put up forte in the second all with two outs. Trent Maloney and Kyle Schmidt singled before James Hardberger doubled home a run to left center. Chad Kennedy drove home two with a single up he middle. Nate Crossman singled then Zac Cook singled home a run. After the first two men were retired, Liberal had six straight hits. The BJ’s scored an unearned run in the fourth as Crossman singled home a run. They scored two unearned in the fifth as Maloney and Schmidt both singled home runs.
Nate Crossman had three hits while Schmidt, Maloney, and Kennedy had two hits a piece.
Liberal wins their third consecutive series and is 7-3 in the Jayhawk. Haysville falls to 5-6. The same two teams play again Thursday night at 7 with the Dugout Show at 6:45 on 1270 and kscbnews.net.
