Bee Jays Drop Non League Game at Dodge City

The Liberal Bee Jays have dropped a pair of non league games this week after a 7-6 loss to the Dodge City A’s at Cavalier Field in Dodge City Wednesday night. The Bee Jays struggled on defense and committed four errors. Liberal pitchers only allowed two earned runs. The BJ’s fall to 7-2 on their season.
Liberal scored a run in the first but the A’s countered with five in the bottom of the second. Only one run was earned. Dodge City scored one in the fourth for a 6-1 lead. The BJ’s scored two in the fifth but the A’s scored a run in the sixth for a 7-3 lead. Liberal scored one in the seventh and two in the eighth.
Dodge City out hit Liberal 9-7 and Liberal committed four errors compared to one by Dodge City. Jack Arthur was 2-4 with a home run. Brady LaJeune-DeAcutis went 1 and 1/3 allowing five runs but just one run was earned. Nick Moore pitched two innings allowing one run. Dylan Kerbow went 2 and 2/3 and allowed one run but it was unearned. Nick Andrews and James Burchett worked scoreless innings.
Travel weary Liberal has three days off now before returning to the road on Sunday to face Oklahoma City Sandlot and 7pm Sunday night at OCU in Edmond.
