The Liberal Bee Jays are moving up the charts in the history of BJ baseball.  Tuesday night with a 106 degree reading at first pitch, the Bee Jays stayed red hot with their 18th straight win beating the visiting Fort Collins Foxes 9-0.  Liberal tied the 1978 Liberal Bee Jays with an 18 game win streak.  Only the BJ teams from 1979 (29 games), 1973 (28 games), 1979 and 1968 (20 games) have had longer win streaks.

Paul Bonzagni pitched seven dominant innings with 12 strikeouts.  Robert Bonilla and Ryan Leary worked scoreless innings.  Liberal out-hit Fort Collins 15-5 while the Foxes had the game’s only three errors.

Liberal scored one in the first on an error.  Jett Brown doubled in the second with two outs and scored on Brett Atkinson’s RBI single for the 2-0 lead.  That score stood until the sixth when Liberal added two runs.  Cooper Hext laid down a bunt single.  Ryan Leary singled him home.  Dylan Kerbow ripped an RBI single to right.  Liberal scored a run in the seventh.  Gavin Brzozowski, Keaton Grady, and Daylan Pena singled to produce a run.  Liberal scored four in the eighth. Cooper Hext tripled home a run.  Dylan Kerbow doubled home a run.  Jett Brown grounded out to score a run.  Brett Atkinson doubled.

Liberal is 27-4 overall and 22-1 in the Rocky Mountain.  Fort Collins Foxes are 6-19 in the RMBL.  The same two teams play Wednesday night at 7pm at Brent Gould Field with a 6:45 pre-game on 1270, 92.3, and the KSCB and The Legend App.  Wind Tree Management and Conestoga Energy are the buyout sponsors.
