Beaver Banking on Continuity in 2024

Brock Kappelmann - August 15, 2024 1:50 pm

Russ Radford took the helm of the Beaver Duster football program as the sixth head coach in eight years in the sand dunes.  The good new?  He is now the sixth head coach in nine years as he and much of his team returns for the football season.  There is still tough sledding ahead for the Dusters who have three wins in the past eight years and haven’t won since October 10 of 2021.  Their last multi win season (4-6) was in 2015 under legendary coach Mike McVay.

Radford, a Laverne native, says speed is a strength for this year’s Dusters.  Some of the key Beaver players are Sr. RB/LB Adrian Montoya, Sr. WR/CB Hunter Hampton, Sr. QB/DB Kobe Stafford, and Sr. WR/DB Ethan Rigdon.

The Dusters were featured during Sportsguys Thursday morning.  They will be the first team On the Sidelines at Billy’s August 29 at 6pm on 102.7.  Their opening game at home with Burns Flatt August 30 airs on 102.7.
