Baby Cakes Award presented by Pancake Board

Liberal, Kans.—The Pancake Day Baby Cakes Award this year was presented to Katelyn Grace Purvis, who was born at 4:23 a.m. on Pancake Day, Feb. 17. Katelyn is the daughter of Chris and Gabriela Purvis of Liberal, and she weighed 7 lbs., 8 oz. and was 21 inches long.
The Baby Cakes award is presented each year to the first baby to arrive on Pancake Day at Southwest Medical Center. Katelyn received a miniature headscarf and apron embroidered with the Pancake Day logo, a plaque, and a basket of baby necessities.
