Liberal sophomore track and field athlete Austin Mullens is the Mead Lumber Athlete of the Week. Mullens had PR’s in the 300 hurdles at 39.21 and the 110 hurdles at 14.73 (pre-lims). Mullens has won the 300 hurdles in three of the four meets. He teams with Martin Ortiz, Dusty Torres, and Ryan Doll in the 4×400 relay which has won in all four meets. Mullens did not compete in track as a freshman but ran track at South Middle School. Mullens and the Redskins were rained out Friday at Hutchinson and will compete at Garden City on Tuesday.
