A 14-year-old Liberal boy died Wednesday night when an ATV flipped over north of the city.
The Kansas Highway Patrol reports Brett Cunningham was a passenger in a Polaris on private property along Road 9. The ATV went out of control at high speed shortly after 7:00 p.m., then began to fish-tail. After a skid, a KHP statement says it “tripped in the dirt” and landed on Cunningham’s side.
The 16-year-old driver of the ATV, was not injured.
