Ashley Carrillo is Hay Rice and Associates Athlete of the Week

Liberal senior soccer player Ashley Carrillo is the Hay Rice and Associates Athlete of the Week.  Carrillo has already netted four goals for Liberal in their three games.  She scored both goals in Liberal’s first win Wednesday when LHS knocked off Emporia 2-0.  She also scored two goals in the opener against Garden City.  Carrillo was the WAC Player of the Year in 2021 in soccer and the WAC Player of the Year in basketball this winter.  She signed at division 1 Presbyterian to play basketball.  Carrillo was also named all state in basketball.  Carrillo is also a junior ambassador and a member of NHS.  Carrillo and the Lady Red play Wichita East Saturday at noon in the Wichita South Titan Classic.  Liberal’s next home game in Monday at the Cornelsen Sports Complex.  The game was moved from Tuesday to Monday.
