Arrests Made In Liberal Burglaries

As part of an ongoing investigation, the Liberal Police Department, in conjunction with the Seward County Sheriff’s Office and the Kansas Bureau of Investigation, served three (3) search warrants on homes in Liberal on February 6, 2012. As a result, one (1) individual is in custody for the burglaries and four (4) other individuals were arrested on unrelated charges. During the search, property from five (5) different burglaries was recovered in addition to narcotics and drug paraphernalia.
In an effort to help reduce the number of burglaries to homes and vehicles in our community, the Liberal Police Department would like to remind everyone of the following tips:

Lock your vehicles at all times

Remove valuables from your vehicle

Lock all windows and doors on your homes

Record the serial numbers of all electronic equipment, jewelry, etc.

Photograph all valuables

In the event that your property is stolen, providing serial numbers and photographs of electronic equipment and other valuables to the Police Department, improves the chances of your property being identified.
