Andover Central again is saving their best for last. One year after winning the 5A state title, a young injury plagued Lady Jaguar team put things together in their 58-46 win over the Liberal Lady Redskins Wednesday night in Andover. LHS held Central’s leading scorer Cami Gee without a field goal but the Lady Jaguars (10-11) made six three pointers. Justyce Perez scored 23 which was 13 over her average. Meg Huelskamp scored 10 which was eight over her average.

Central led 17-10 after one quarter and 29-12 in the second quarter before a 9-0 LHS run made it 29-20. It was 31-20 at halftime. LHS trailed just 31-22 after two Emily Bayouth free throws. But Andover Central then went on an 11-0 run. Justice Norah scored 21 in the loss and Megan Campbell added a season high 10 while playing with a broken hand. Liberal finishes 9-12. That breaks a string of five straight winning seasons at LHS in the girls basketball program. Campbell, Lauren Sumner, Kirsten Ross, and Destiny Hall played their final games for LHS.
