A Two Vehicle Crash Injures A Plains Woman

A two vehicle accident Monday evening has injured a passenger in one of the vehicles. The accident occurred at 7:45pm one mile west of Plains on Highway 54. A 1998 Kenworth semi being driven by Bobby Schleicher, 32, of Webster Wisconsin, slowed to make a right hand turn onto Ohio Street from US 54 when a 1994 Ford pickup being driven by Juan Antonio Delatorre, 60, of Plains attempted to pass the semi on the right. the semi then struck the pick up injuring the passenger, 64 year old Josefina Martinez of Plains. She was taken to the Meade County Hospital to be treated for her injuries. Seatbelts were in use in both vehicles.
