There were bright spots for the Liberal Redskins in their baseball opener. The sixth inning was not one of them. Woodward scored nine runs in the sixth inning to break a 6-6 tie in a 15-6 win over the Redskins in Liberal’s opener.

LHS trailed 5-4 in the fourth and they were tied at six after five. The Redskins had runners on first and second with no outs in the sixth but failed to lay down a bunt. They would not score in the inning and then allowed nine in the sixth. LHS committed five errors.

Miguel Gomez, Christian Hernandez, and Lorenzo Pando had two hits a piece in the loss.
