The Seward County Historical Society will be hosting “A Showcase of Liberal Authors”. This event will be held at the Best Western Meeting Room, 1550 N. Lincoln, Sunday afternoon at 1:30 pm February 25th.

Featured Authors will be Janice Northerns, retired Seward County Community College and Liberal High School English Teacher. Janice’s book, “Some Electric Hum”, has won numerous awards and is a fascinating book of thoughtful poetry.

Bill McGlothing has taught at several Native American Reservations eventually making his way to Seward County Community College teaching English, Literature, and Creative Writing. His Poetry collection, “The Time Between Rivers”, encompasses half a century of writing, teaching, and finding sanctuary at the river.

Raylene Hinz Penner was born and raised three miles east of Liberal on a dairy farm. Her book, “East of Liberal”, explores the history and spirit of the land she grew up on and those that came before her.

All three authors will be giving readings from their books. Refreshments will be served and everyone is welcome to attend to hear these well versed writers talk about their works.
