A Rusty Beginning at Balko

KSCB News - August 23, 2011 2:06 pm

Balko is trying to shake rust off their football program. The proud Balko program boasts football state championship trophies in 1998 and 1990. The Bison are just two years removed from back-to-back 0-9 seasons. But Balko was 3-6 last year and returns five starters to the offense and four starters on defense at the eight man class C school. Balko alumnus Rusty Thomas takes over as head coach of the football program after 18 years as an assistant coach at Perryton.

Balko returns senior running back and free safety Ty Casper, Ty’s brother junior quarterback and outside linebacker Clay Casper, senior running back and linebacker Ben Clubb, junior lineman and linebacker Tanr Hayley, and junior lineman Bidal Arndal.

Balko has 20 players out for football.
