On Saturday, April 26, Liberal Wrestling Club sent one wrestler, Adriel (AC)
Gomez, to Wichita to compete in the Gold Rush Freestyle and Greco tournament. There
were many competitors from multiple states at this tournament.

The Greco part of the tournament was first on Saturday. AC started the day with
2 tech falls, winning his pool to advance with higher placement to the bracket round. He
ended in 2nd place. “We are proud of him. His dad is proud of him. He has really
stepped up and does so well with his upper body strength, which is great for Greco! He
told me that he definitely learned what he needs to work on to prepare for State this
weekend,” said Coach Krista Holcomb.

After Greco, the Freestyle part of the tournament began. AC took 3rd in Freestyle
on Saturday after some hard fought matches.

Liberal Wrestling Club will be competing at State in Park City this weekend. The
competition will be Saturday with females and kids and Sunday with males 16 and up.
