Seward Splits On Sophomore Day

The Seward softball team wrapped up their home season and their regular season Sunday afternoon at French Family Field in Liberal.  Seward recognized their seven sophomore and split with the Dodge City Conquistadors.  Seward won game one 8-2 and Dodge City took game two 6-1.  In game one, DCCC scored single runs in the first and second before SCCC plated four in the second as Taryn Golden hit an inside the park grand slam.   The Saints added two in the fourth and two in the fifth.  In game two, Dodge City started fast scoring two in the first, two in the second, and one in the third to lead 5-1.  The Conqs added a run in the seventh.  Seward finishes the regular season 18-29 overall and 10-21 in the Jayhawk.  Seward finishes 11-11 at home.  Seward begins play in the Region 6 Softball Tournament Friday at Dodge City.
