Liberal junior athlete Shamari Lewis is this week’s Hay Rice and Associates Athlete of the Week.  Lewis won the long jump (16′), the triple jump (35’6″), and helped win the 4×100 relay at Elkhart Friday.  Her personal best in the long jump is 17′ at the regional in Liberal in May.  Her personal best triple jump is 36’7″ at state last year which propelled her to a 4th place finish.  She also runs the 200 and took 2nd in that event in Liberal.  Lewis was 2nd team all WAC in volleyball and 1st team all WAC in basketball and KBCA 2nd team all state.  She is in NHS and Coloring Club.  Lewis and the Redskins compete at Haysville Saturday.
