Deborah Ann Krey, affectionately known as Debbie, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 13, 2025, at Pioneer Manor Nursing Home in Hugoton, Kansas. Born on August 2, 1955, in Hugoton, she was the cherished daughter of Donald Lee and Harriet Lea (Algrim) Krey.
Debbie was known for her loving and free-spirited nature, and she brought joy to those around her. Her vibrant personality made her a beloved friend, and she had a special knack for light-hearted teasing that endeared her to many. Passionate about her hobbies, she found pleasure in painting ceramics and had a particular fondness for butterflies. Debbie was always ready to lend a hand, often volunteering to prepare meals for community gatherings and funeral dinners.
A devoted member of the formerly Richfield United Methodist Church, which is now known as the Richfield Methodist Church, she continued her faith journey at the Methodist Church in Hugoton following her move.
Debbie is survived by her sister, Melinda Daily, and her husband Curtis; as well as her nieces and nephews, including Brent (last name), Harrison Krey and his wife Roni, Chanity (last name) and her husband Joshua. She is also remembered by her great-nieces and great-nephews, Lexi Crowl, Bralyn Crowl, Cayli Crowl, Koi Krey, and Kyson Krey, along with her great-great-niece, Miabelle Hernandez.
Visitation services will be held on Thursday, April 17, 2025, from 2 P.M. until 8 P.M. at Robson Funeral Home in Hugoton. Funeral services will take place on Friday, April 18, 2025, at 11 A.M. at the Richfield Methodist Church in Richfield, Kansas, with burial to follow at Richfield Cemetery. Pastor Wesley Young will preside over the services.
