Coach Nick Rotolo’s comments:
We had a course change from Auburn Hills to Rilling Hills Country Club and the unfamiliar course made it difficult at times with us not knowing where to hit some tee shots and the trouble areas. We finished 11th out of 20 teams and just behind Derby and Dodge who’s both in our regional (finished 1 and 2 last year). We were paired with both the teams and was beating them through 14 holes but didn’t finish the round as 23 of our 75 strokes over par came in the last 4 holes. I do feel like we can take some positives out of the day on the big fast undulating greens that we are not used to and the boys battled all day long. I believe this didn’t only show me but showed them if we finish rounds limit big numbers and 3 putts we won’t only be competing for a WAC title but also a chance at qualifying for state. We will see what the rest of the season brings but I believe we can have a successful one.”
