Redskins Swing into Golf Season with High Hopes

The Liberal High School boys golf team opens their season Monday in Salina. The boys have 16 out for 4rth year head coach Nick Rotolo.  They graduate Ryan Mein who made state all four years and was 1st team all WAC last year. Skyler Hubbard was second team all WAC and made state the past two years and returns for his senior year as a lead of the team. He also plays baseball. Rotolo thinks this team can have the most depth of the four teams he has coached. The Redskins will lean heavily on dual sport baseball players Sr. Landon Martinez and Jr. Blayden Betts.  Both bring back varsity experience from last year. Hudson Rice is back for his senior year after playing last year.  Senior Aron Rivas moves up from the junior varsity to the varsity to begin the season.  Sophomore Rylin Roehr and Freshman Reed Roehr will figure into the varsity lineup this season.   About half the team are from the freshman class.  With 16 out, the Redskins will have several JV tournaments on their schedule for their young players.   Rotolo was a guest during Sportsguys Friday morning.
