Lady Redskins Press for Success

The Liberal Lady Redskins used their press to force turnovers and create easy offensive opportunities in a 49-32 win over the visiting Garden City Lady Buffaloes Tuesday night in the Big House.  Liberal dominated the game and the final score wasn’t even indicative of the kind of game it was as LHS did not score in the fourth quarter with a running clock.

Many fans wore purple in remembrance of Gus Riley.  Gus’s cousin Kylie Rhine spoke to the crowd about her cousin in between games resulting in a heart warming standing ovation.

LHS jumped out to an 18-8 lead after one quarter and led 35-12 at halftime.  Liberal led 49-18 after three.

Shamari Lewis was Epic Touch Player of the Game with 13 points, nine rebounds, four steals, and four assists.  Zoey Torres scored 10 points.  Kamilah Delgado pulled down 12 rebounds.

Liberal wins their 10th in a row over Garden City and 11th in a row at home over the Lady Buffs.  Garden City is 11-9 and 4-4 in the WAC.  Liberal is 13-6 overall and 5-2 in the WAC.  Liberal hosts Senior Night Thursday night against Dodge City at 6pm with Redskin Pre-game at 5:45 on 1270 and 92.3.
