Steve Lee Tregellas

Steve Lee Tregellas, age 58, son of Dennis and Genevieve (Jan) (Llewellyn)Tregellas, and brother of Tammie Tregellas Boykin; passed away on February 17, 2025, in Elkhart, Kansas. Steve was born on September 27, 1966, in Elkhart, Kansas, where he lived his entire life. He graduated from Elkhart High School in 1985.

Steve loved the Denver Broncos and enjoyed the companionship of watching football and basketball with his dad. Steve also was a fan of NASCAR, cheering on Ryan Neuman for years. Steve loved cars, especially treasuring the Pontiac Firebird Trans Am he got in high school. Steve was a people person, which made him an excellent salesman. He had a remarkable memory of the names of people he met and always knew about their families. He also spent many years driving trucks in various workplaces. Steve was a great friend and was always willing to help someone in need. One former coworker recalled, “Where there was laughter, you would always find Steve!!!” He loved to joke and tease. Steve also loved his pups Hope and Sparky.

Steve is preceded in death by his mother, Genevieve (Jan); his father, Dennis; grandparents, Richard and Irene Tregellas, and David and Susie Llewellyn; uncles, Jim Tregellas, Lon Tregellas, Charles Llewellyn, Sam Llewellyn and David Llewellyn, Jr.

He is survived by his sister, Tammie Tregellas Boykin and husband, Talley; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

A celebration of Steve’s life will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 24, 2025, at the First Church of God, 306 Morton Street, Elkhart, Kansas, with Pastor Forest Cromwell officiating. Inurnment will follow the service in Elkhart Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to Children of Promise, in care of Garnand Funeral Home, P.O.
