The Lady Saints won their sixth straight game while giving the Independence Lady Pirates their eighth straight loss 78-39 Satruday afternoon in the ICC Fieldhouse.
Seward led 17-6 after one and outscored the Lady Pirates 20-9 in the second quarter for a 37-15 lead at halftime. Indy started strong in the second half cutting the Seward lead to 47-33. ICC outscored SCCC in the third quarter 20-19. But the Lady Saints sizzled in the fourth quarter 22-4.
Seward held Independence to 28 percent shooting and force 19 ICC turnovers. Indy was 1-7 from three and 10-13 at the foul line. The Lady Saints shot 47 percent from the field going 5-13 from three and 13-15 from the foul line.
Ari Gordon was Epic Touch Player of the Game scoring 18 poins. Sanaa Dennis scored a career high 11. Avery Marchino added 10.
Independence falls to 2-25 and 1-20 in the Jayhawk. Seward is 19-8 overall and 14-7 in the Jayhawk. Seward plays at Coffeyville Wednesday night at 5:30 with Saints Shoot-around at 5:15 on 107.5.
