Liberal City Commission Meets

The liberal City Commission met Tuesday evening at 6:30 pm for their regularly scheduled meeting. Among the items on the agenda, commissioners vote 3 -2 to move to a second reading, Ordinance 4387 which would amend the City Code pertaining to the use of banners and temporary signs. Mayor Long, Commissionerrs Harrison and Carlile voted in favor of moving the Ordinance to a second reading, while Vice-mayor Denoyer and Commissioner Koochel were against. Commissioners also approved the 2011 Builders Incentive Program, which would allow the developer to receive payment once the lot was developed, while the builder would receive their portion once the home was completed. Also approved at Tuesday’s meeting was an agreement with Mid-Kansas Electric to use city right of way to provide more electricity to National Beef. The city also approved giving KDOT the right of way to put in a deceleration lane on North 83 highway to turn into the Century Heights Addition, and approved $22,486.65 in change orders for curb and guttering replacement on the Western Avenue project. The next regular meeting of the Liberal City commission is set for July 13, with budget sessions scheduled for Saturday, July 10, 2010.
