The Hays Indians won their 16th straight game over the Liberal Redskins 67-30 Friday night at Hays High School. It was Liberal’s last game in the current gym as HHS will move into a new building next school year.
Hays led after a competitive first quarter 18-12. The Indians took a 32-18 lead into the halftime lockeroom. Hays outscored LHS in the third quarter 27-8 and led 59-26 after three.
Liberal committed 16 turnovers in the loss and went 3-17 from three.
James Fieser was Epic Touch Player of the Game with 16 points.
Hays is 9-7 overall and 4-1 in the WAC. Liberal is 3-15 overall with a sixth straight loss. LHS has dropped 31 straight WAC games. The Redskins play at home against Garden City February 25 on 1270 and 92.3.
