7A from Coach Olvera

The Seymour Rogers 7th Grade Basketball A-Team played their fourth match of the season against Horace Good. Once again, the Apaches started strong, bringing great energy as they executed their offense against the Hawk’s zone defense. Kaden Olvera opened the scoring, followed by Devonte Denton, helping the Apaches dominate the first quarter with a commanding 17-2 lead.

The Apaches continued applying defensive pressure and pressing the ball through the end of the first half. In the second half, they maintained their offensive rhythm against the Hawks’ zone defense, creating more scoring opportunities for Aiden Aragon, Brandon Maldonado, and Eliseo Escobar. The Apaches controlled the game from start to finish, securing a decisive 31-12 victory.

8B from Coach Shelby –
SRMS 8B had their home opener Thursday night and lost to Horace Good Middle School. 63-11. SRMS never gave up though and scored their most points in a quarter this season with 6 points in the 4th. Marcos Archondo led the Apaches with 6 points. Jesus Rios hit the only 3 pointer for SRMS. The Apaches are back in action Monday night when they take on Comanche in Dodge City.
