The Redskins gained their third win of the season Thursday night at Adolph Rupp Court in Halstead. The Liberal Redskins played their second game in the Adolph Rupp Invitational in Halstead on Thursday night. This was a particularly big challenge as LHS played the host team Halstead Dragons. So it was also a road game. The Redskins trailed by 10. But the Redskins still prevailed 67-61.
Halstead led 35-25 at the half as Liberal’s transition defense had trouble getting back. The Redskins were the agressor in the third quarter playing man to man defense and led 49-47 after three. LHS led 52-47 early in the fourth.
Adrian Moreno-Gonzalez was Epic Touch Player of the Game with 21 points. Ethan Hernandez scored 16 points and 12 rebounds. James Fieser scored 14 in the second half after foul trouble sidelined him in the first half.
Halstead is 5-6 and the Redskins are 3-9. Liberal plays at 3:45 Saturday against Garden Plain in Halstead on 1270 and 92.3.
