Sheryl Sue (George) Gray, 78, peacefully transitioned from this life to her Heavenly Home on Sunday, January 19, 2025, at Stevens County Hospital in Hugoton, Kansas. Born on July 19, 1946, she was the cherished daughter of Dale Knox and Norma Louise (Ireland) George.
Sheryl’s journey took her to Denver, Colorado, where she pursued her passion for helping others by earning an associate’s degree as an X-ray technician. For many years, she dedicated her skills and heart to the community at Stevens County Hospital, where she found great fulfillment in her work and the compassionate service it allowed her to provide.
A lifelong member of the First Christian Church of Hugoton, Sheryl’s faith was a cornerstone of her life. She actively participated in church activities, particularly enjoying the nurturing of the gardening beds, which reflected her love for nature and growth. Her enthusiasm for gardening, baking, and sharing life with her beloved dog Minni brought her immense joy. Additionally, her childhood in the beautiful outdoors of Colorado instilled in her a deep appreciation for nature and all things equestrian.
Sheryl is survived by her loving brother Donald Dale George and many dear loving friends from her First Christian Church Family of Hugoton. She was preceded in death by her adoring parents and sister, Joye Kay Screws.

A celebration of Sheryl’s remarkable life will be held privately at a later date, in keeping with her wishes for cremation. Robson Funeral Home of Hugoton is overseeing the arrangements.
