Seward found out Wednesday before their shoot-around in Liberal that they would be without seven footer Lovasoa Andriasarafara for 1-10their game in Hutchinson and perhaps for the rest of the season. Without their future division 1 center, the Saints gave a valiant first half effort before falling 67-50 to the Hutchinson Blue Dragons in the Hutchinson Sports Arena Wednesday night.
The Saints took early leads of 12-9 and 16-11. The Dragons led the Saints 34-29 at halftime. Hutch outpaced the Saints 33-21 in the second half.
Seward shot 38 percent from the field and 5-16 from three. SCCC was 3-6 from the foul line. Hutchinson shot 54 percent from the field while making 7-16 from three and 10-12 from the foul line.
Muhammed Jobe was Epic Touch Player of the Game with 20 points and seven rebounds. Benni Kazadi scored 11.
Seward has lost 10 straight to Hutchinson. The Dragons are 12-5 overall and 8-3 in the Jayhawk. HCC has won six in a row. Seward falls to 2-14 overall and 1-10 in the KJCCC. Seward has lost six in a row. The Saints play at Garden City Saturday at 4pm on 107.5.
