John Robert LaPoint, 52, passed away on Sunday January 5, 2025 at his home near Liberal, Kansas.
He was born on October 3, 1972 to David and Theresa (Singleton) LaPoint at Glens Falls, NY.
On May 15, 1999 he married Araceli Zuniga in the court and on May 15, 2012 in the church at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church in Liberal, KS.
He was a class of 1991 graduate of Saratoga Central Catholic School in Saratoga Spring, NY. John worked for Filter Express Plus in Copeland, KS for many years before purchasing the business on January 27, 2021. He loved sports and participated in Basketball and Baseball in his youth. John was also active in coaching Football and Soccer with Kids Inc, coaching Football and Basketball with Future Mustangs, and assisting the Southwestern Heights High School Mustangs Football program. He was a kind person, who was always willing to help others. He was a great friend. His favorite pro teams were the Dallas Cowboys, the St. Louis Cardinals, and the LA Lakers. John also enjoyed Golfing and was a member of a Golf League, and was active with the Yellow Brick Road Baggers Corn Hole team. He was a devoted loving husband and father who enjoyed supporting his children in all their activities. He was a loving papa to his grandchildren. John was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church in Liberal.
John is survived by his loving wife Araceli, Two Daughters, Nayelly Chavez and husband Efrain of Plains, KS, Katelyn LaPoint of Lawrence, KS; Three Sons, Nathaniel LaPoint of Liberal, KS, Payton LaPoint of Liberal, KS, John Joseph LaPoint of Chickasha, OK; Six Grandchildren; Parents, David and Theresa LaPoint of Glens Falls, NY; Brother, David LaPoint of Liberal, KS; Three Sisters, Jessica Dixon and husband Ronald of Queensbury, NY, Mary Beth Mantia and husband Kenneth of Saratoga Springs, NY, Francine Buser and husband Richard of South Glens Falls, NY.
He was proceeded in death by his grandparents Robert and Julia Singleton, David Leon LaPoint and Ann Hammond, a nephew Jonathan Hendrix.
There will be no public viewing.
Rosary Service will be at 7:00 pm Thursday January 16, 2025 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.
Funeral Mass will be at 10:30 am Friday January 17, 2025 at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church.
Per John’s wishes, Cremation will follow the service.
