Deborah Ann Talbert, age 73, died Saturday, January 11, 2025, at St. Catherine Hospital in Garden City, Kansas. She was born on August 14, 1951, in Waterville, Maine, the daughter of Lionel Everett, Jr. and Gloria Mary (Deschaine) Gamache.
Deborah grew up in Amarillo, Texas, where she graduated from high school. While being a homemaker, Deborah also worked at Gibson’s, IGA, drove a feed truck, and cleaned houses. She married Ernie R. Talbert in 1970, he passed away September 29, 1999. On April 22, 2000, Deborah married Byron Bessette. She enjoyed playing games, collected teddy bears, loved her cats, and was a night owl. Deborah took pride in her home and her family. She always had a spotless house and was very protective of her family.
Deborah is survived by her husband, Byron Bessette of their home in Ulysses; sons, Johnny Talbert and wife, Jennifer, and Josh Talbert and wife, Josefina; step-children, Ashley Cravens and husband, Justin, Eryne Bessette, Zachary Bessette, and Mari Bessette; mother, Gloria Gamache of Ulysses; brother, Kip Gamache and wife, Susan Friedman of Bensalem, Pennsylvania; grandson, Kobe Lee Talbert; step-grandchildren, Taylor and Tatiana Maravilla, Kade and Huckson Arriola; Keagan Bessette, Oaklee and Madilynn Knikelbine; and niece, Olivia Gamache.
Deborah is preceded in death by her father, Lionel Gamache.
A memorial graveside service will be held Friday, January 17, 2024, at 2:00 PM at the Ulysses Cemetery with Pastor Andy McMillan officiating.
