Nathan Wesley “Wes” Bressler

Nathan Wesley “Wes” Bressler, age 87, died December 18, 2024, at Morton County Hospital in Elkhart, Kansas. He was born July 7, 1937, in Sterling, Kansas, the son of Norval and Annabelle (Cundith) Bressler.

When Wes was young, his family moved to the Wilburton area. He attended school there until high school and graduated from Elkhart High School in 1955. He attended Kansas University for a semester. He worked at Cessna in Wichita until he woke up one morning knowing his calling was farming. He farmed with his dad for years. Wes married Roberta (Bobbie) Henry on December 27, 1959, in Elkhart. They continued to farm and raise their children on Bressler Farms. Reid joined the family in 1964 and Traci was born in 1966. Wes and Bobbie enjoyed going on the many trips he won as a seed dealer. They also traveled for pleasure. Community was important to Wes, and he served on many boards and committees. He was a member of the Mason’s and Methodist Church. Wes’s other passion was his family. He spent a lot of time attending his grandkids activities and events. He was concerned about their welfare and made sure they always had what they needed. Wes moved to town in 2006 after his wife of 47 years passed away. He enjoyed his time at Elkhart Senior Center delivering meals on wheels for 14 years, playing Bingo, cards and shooting pool. Wes will be remembered for his dedication to his family, intelligence and being a hard worker.

Wes is survived by his daughter, Traci O’Hanlon and husband, Stephen, of Elkhart; brother, Robert Bressler of San Antonio, Texas; nine grandchildren and their families, Dustin O’Hanlon and wife, Amber, and children Breckynne, Brennan and Hadley: Kaleb O’Hanlon and wife, Allee, and children Balek, Atlas and expecting one: Amber Berman and children Rex and Jack: Jaycob and wife, Meredith, and children Ever, Echo and expecting one: Tanille Bressler, Braxton Bressler, Zachery O’Hanlon, Benjamin O’Hanlon and wife, Chloei, and children, Ava and Everlyn: and Brock Bressler.

Wes is preceded in death by his parents, Norval and Annabelle; wife, Bobbie; and son, Reid.

Graveside service will be Saturday, December 21, 2024, at 10:00 AM Elkhart Cemetery in Elkhart with Pastor Terrell Giddens officiating.
