Irma Izaguirre Loredo, born on June 27, 1930, in Mercedes, Texas, passed away peacefully on November 5, 2024, at Southwest Medical Center in Liberal, Kansas. She leaves behind a legacy woven with love, resilience, and unwavering dedication—a life that touched all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Irma’s heart was a garden of kindness and beauty. Her love for planting flowers wasn’t just a hobby but an expression of her soul—a way of bringing color and joy to the world around her. Her nurturing spirit was felt by everyone she cared for. As a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and even a great-great-grandmother, Irma’s greatest joy came from her family.

Growing up in South Texas, Irma learned the art of cooking Tex-Mex and Mexican dishes that she then brought to Kansas where local residents learned to enjoy her food. From hot sauces, to her tamales, and menudo, there wasn’t a dish that wasn’t enjoyed.

She is survived by her sons, Mario Loredo and his wife Evangelina of Liberal, KS, and Ramiro Loredo of Satanta, KS; her daughters, Ludy Garcia and her husband Victor of Satanta, KS, and Dalinda Garza and her husband Homero of Satanta, KS. Her love continues to bloom through her 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great-grandchildren, as well as the countless other relatives and friends who were blessed by her warmth, wisdom, and humor.

Irma is reunited in peace with those who went before her: her husband Pascual Loredo, her infant children Felicitas and Ernesto, her son Robert Loredo, her daughter-in-law Juanita Loredo, her brother Manuel Izaguirre, and her parents.
