Seward County Sheriff’s Office to Honor Sheriff Dunn

The Seward County Sheriff’s Office would like to extend an invitation to the public for a flag dedication ceremony on Saturday, November 9th at 2:00 pm, in front of the Seward County Sheriff’s Office.

This ceremony is to honor Seward County Sheriff Samuel Dunn and the sacrifice he made to the residents of Seward County. While some of the details are unclear, Sheriff Dunn was killed either the 5th or 7th of January 1892 in the canyons of the Cimarron River when try to stop an attempted assassination of a local judge due to the County seat wars between Seward and Stevens County.
