Local Food Field Tour in Liberal, KS on November 14,

Ogallala Commons, a nonprofit education and leadership organization (www.ogallalacommons.org), invites local food producers, gardeners, and the interested public to attend our Local Foods Field Tour on Thursday, November 14th starting in Liberal, KS, from 9:30am-2:00pm Central Time. The tour will provide information, ideas, and inspiration for food producers and gardeners, as well as networking opportunities. Attendees will tour a high tunnel and greenhouse production site in Liberal, and then after lunch, make a short drive to Plains, KS to tour another high tunnel production farm.

The event will begin at the K-State Research & Education Building (1081 Stadium Ave, Liberal, KS 67901). Doors will open at 9am with registration, light refreshments, and an overview. Next, we will tour Three Sisters Specialty Crop Growers, followed by lunch at 11:30am back at KSRE building.
After lunch, the tour group will travel a half-hour to arrive at The Shed in Plains, KS, to learn more about high tunnel vegetable production. The tour will adjourn at 2:00pm in Plains, KS.
